Finally! A Guide to Diabetes Cure and Remedy

Jul 17, 2019

Diabetes has become a global concern. Millions have it and are suffering from its long-term effects. These include eyesight damage, kidney damage, nerve damage, skin conditions, heart disease, and the list goes on. Thus, early detection of the disease is very important. A person should be aware of its symptoms and consult his doctor whenever he suspects that he has it.

Symptoms of Diabetes
There are many signs to look out for when it comes to diabetes. If you experience one or more of the following symptoms, then it is time to visit your physician.

  • Sudden weight gain or weight loss.
  • Frequent visits to the comfort room to urinate.
  • Wounds that heal very slowly.
  • Hunger pangs.
  • A tendency to get angry easily.
  • Nausea.
  • Having a blurred vision.
  • Feet or hands get a tingling sensation.

Causes of Diabetes

Diabetes can either be acquired or inherited. However, it does not necessarily mean that you automatically have it if your father, mother or close relatives have diabetes. If a number of relatives have diabetes, it means that you are more susceptible to the disease. This does not imply that you should not be careful in choosing the foods you eat if you don’t have a single diabetic relative since anyone can have diabetes if he or she follows a lifestyle that leads to it.
Constantly staying up late at night, eating fatty foods and high in sugar and salt content can lead to becoming overweight or even obesity. Aside from eating unhealthy foods, lack of physical activity can also have the same result. These are factors that can dramatically increase your chances of becoming a diabetic. Thus, avoiding or incorporating these things in your lifestyle can help you prevent it.

Therapies and Remedies for Diabetics

Preventing diabetes is one thing while dealing with it is another. If you are diagnosed with this disease, do not get discouraged since there are many things you can do to manage it.

  • Oral Medications – In most cases, diabetics who are still in the early stages of the disease are given oral medicines by their physicians. These medications help by stimulating the pancreas to create more insulin for your body to transport sugar.
  • Insulin Therapy – Most type 1 diabetics are prescribed to go through insulin therapy. However, type 2 diabetics may also be prescribed with insulin, especially if they are not able to maintain better blood sugar levels. Certain types of insulin include the short-acting, rapid-acting, intermediate-acting, long-acting and the ultra-long-acting. Since insulin cannot be taken orally, it is usually injected with the use of a syringe with a fine needle. Aside from injections, other options include an insulin pump and a tubeless pump. It is important to note that blood sugar monitoring is imperative whether you are using oral medications or going through insulin therapy.
  • ACV or Apple Cider Vinegar – There are a number of natural remedies when it comes to managing diabetes and one of which is with the use of Apple Cider Vinegar. Recent studies provide promising results when it comes to using ACV as an alternative to controlling blood sugar levels. It helps by influencing your body’s response to sugar and decreasing sugar production of the liver. In addition, ACV is also proven to make you more energetic, which significantly helps you in burning fats and utilizing sugar more efficiently. To use it, just add a couple of teaspoons in your drinking water in the morning and drink it on an empty stomach. If you are new to its taste, adding a small amount of honey would greatly help. ACV can decrease your body’s blood sugar levels. Therefore, do not forget to consult with your doctor before using it, especially if you are already taking certain medicines for diabetes.
  • Eat Foods with Low Glycemic Index – Choosing the food you eat wisely is one of the keys to controlling your blood sugar levels. The better you are in keeping your sugar levels checked, the more you are getting rid of diabetes. Eating low glycemic index foods have been proven to help both type 1 and type 2 diabetics. Examples include corn, eggs, meat, seafood, sweet potatoes, beans, barley, lentils, fruits, and legumes.
  • Carbohydrate Control – When your body absorbs carbohydrates through the foods you eat, it is broken down into sugars. Therefore, it is safe to say that the more carbs you absorb, the higher your blood sugar becomes. Eating more carbohydrates puts a lot of stress into your body since it would constantly process it. So, if you want your blood sugar controlled, edit your grocery shopping list today and erase certain items that are high in carbohydrates.
  • Fiber Intake – If you do your research, in most cases, health experts would often tell you to eat more vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and fruits. What do these things have in common? You guessed it right! It’s fiber. Fiber does not only cleanse your system of free radicals but it also helps in lowering your blood sugar levels by slowing down sugar absorption and carbohydrate digestion.
  • Control Serving Portion – Weight control is essential in controlling your body’s blood sugar levels. One of the things to do is portion control. Aside from checking the types of food you put into your plate, you should also control your serving portion. Even if you eat the healthiest of foods out there, your blood sugar will still skyrocket when you eat too much of them. If you tend to eat more than you should, try to chew slower and eat more times a day. This way, your metabolism spikes and you prevent yourself from binge eating.
  • Become Stress-Free – When you are stressed, your body may respond by secreting certain hormones that increase your blood sugar levels. Stress can also make you eat more and move less. There are many things you can do to relieve yourself of stress, one of which is to yoga exercises for stress relief. Increasing physical activity would not just help you get rid of stress, but it can also burn more fats in your body. Do not forget that your body also needs to rest in order to recuperate. Thus, getting enough sleep is also essential in reducing stress. Quality sleep would make you feel more energetic the next day and it is also known to prevent binge eating. In addition, listening to binaural sounds, yoga and meditation, breathing exercises ,and spending quality time with your friends and family are also activities you can enjoy to rid of stress and get rid of diabetes.

Don’t let diabetes prevent you from enjoying your life. If you are diagnosed, accept the fact that you have it, so you can move on and do things to control your blood sugar levels. Being diabetic is not the end of the world. It is simply your body’s response to the things you are doing to it and it’s telling you to commit to certain changes in order for you to lead a happier and healthier life.
