Aug 07, 2019

While it is true that men are more prone to encounter hair loss problem than women, this does not mean you are exempted if you are a girl. Experiencing hair loss is not pleasant especially if you are a woman. Although some of the causes behind losing hair cannot be controlled such as being inherited. Moreover, there are more cases of it that are caused by a person’s habits and other external factors.
Here are some of the causes of hair loss problem

  1. Vitamin A overload – You may have heard countless times that incorporating foods high in vitamin A into your diet is essential for better health. Although this is true, it does not necessarily mean that you have to consume too much of it. Whatever nutrient your body absorbs, if it goes over the limit, then it is not good. Excessive amounts of vitamin A actually gets stored in your body. Once your body absorbs more than it needs constantly, your hair will start to fall.
  2. Protein deficiency – Hair growth requires protein. When there is a decline of protein intake in a certain amount of time, your body will start to ration it and will put a stop to hair development.
  3. Iron deficiency anemia – This is the most common type of anemia, and it usually affects women. Anemia can cause hair loss problem to both men and women. If you think you are anemic and you seem to lose more hair than usual, you have to visit your doctor to confirm it.
  4. Lack of vitamin B – When your body doesn't absorb enough vitamin B, you eventually become anemic, which in turn, results in hair loss.
  5. Other causes – Hormones, physical and emotional stress, weight loss, chemotherapy, and steroids.

If you take another look at the leading causes of hair loss problem, you will see that hair loss can actually be avoided. One of the things to do is to start improving your diet.

Meat
Meat, preferably the lean kind, is loaded with proteins and amino acids that are essential to hair growth. Hair follicles need to be repaired constantly and should be strong in order to prevent hair loss and also, protein is necessary for your body to achieve this. Apart from being a good source of protein, meat is filled with iron and B vitamins that are good in preventing anemia.

Avocado fruit
Avocados are not just tasty, they are also filled with a lot of nutrients needed by your body to prevent hair loss. It is loaded with vitamin E that is known to neutralize free radicals, thereby protecting your skin, especially your scalp, making your hair healthier. Avocados also offer essential fatty acids that are linked to healthier and smoother hair.

Fish

They are also called fatty fish and they offer loads of omega-3-fatty acids that are known to help maintain hair growth and health. Aside from that, fatty fish is also a good source of B vitamins, vitamin D3, selenium and protein, which are all essential in improving the health of your hair, thereby preventing them from falling.

Tangerines
Tangerines taste good and they are excellent sources of vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which helps your hair by protecting the hair follicles from harmful chemicals that you may be able to absorb from certain products like shampoo, gel and such. In addition, vitamin C also aids your body in absorbing the mineral iron, preventing anemia and of course, hair loss.

Vitamin A in spinach is just enough to help your body produce more sebum, which is responsible for maintaining the moisture of your scalp, keeping your hair in top shape. The iron in spinach aids in the health of your hair by ensuring the normal circulation of red blood cells in your body, carrying oxygen in every part of it to help in repair and growth.

Nuts
