Indigestion, eating habit and lifestyle

Whilst indigestion can be a signal of something wrong or a major problem within a person's body, it is mostly a result of poor eating habits. For instance, most people are used to drinking whilst they eat and washing down every mouthful with a sip of wine, water or drink. This is a bad habit because the fluids will dilute the digestive juices and weaken their power leading to dyspepsia or digestive discomforts.  The stomach juices and enzymes operate at an optimum temperature and taking in fluids whilst you eat will disrupt the temperatures of the stomach leading to inefficiency in the digestive system.
Other people because of their love for food usually eat fast and rush through food and this does not give the teeth enough time for the mechanical breakdown of food inside the mouth. Consequently, food is passed down into the stomach in an unprepared state at a rate faster can be handled by the digestive tract and food goes into the colon leading to flatulence. The marked tightness of the stomach may lead to heartburn and belching. In many cases, digestive distress is due to the person eating too fast. The teeth should have sufficient time for mastication and every meal time should be considered as a time for bodily and mental rest.
Indigestion can be experienced due to eating under bad circumstances. Take, for instance, having a tight schedule and most of the meals are taken in a rush or having an argument at the dinner table. Meals should be taken in a more relaxed environment.
Other underlying factors include the type of lifestyle one leads. Indigestion can be triggered by the food we eat, drinks and medication. Other factors include the consumption of oily food, overeating smoking, and caffeine. It is a common disease that anyone can suffer from. It affects pregnant women (Pregnancy Exercises); hormonal changes that relax the muscles of the digestive tract as well as the pressure from the baby. Ways of getting rid of indigestion are well documented in the medical literature. The origins of these remedies can be traced back to ancient Chinese remedies and through scholars such as P.H Friedman and T. Trotter. Getting rid of indigestion might seem like a difficult task if you live a busy lifestyle where fast foods are cheap and found at each corner you turn. Research shows that introducing healthy habits can work effectively hence getting rid of indigestion.
Indigestion should not impose on your lifestyle. Just the mere thought of the discomfort you feel when your lifestyle is disrupted by indigestion is beyond description.

Foods such as flaxseeds as they are a good source of gentle soluble fibber. Other mentionable items are soya beans, spinach, walnuts and fish such as mackerel, trout, and salmon.
