Sep 12, 2019

The number of people who suffer from various Health problems is increasing by large with each passing day. The reason for this increased number of people with poor health is that the lifestyle of people has changed. The type and quantity of food items that people eat have changed drastically. And liver problems are certainly up there when it comes to health problems. Treating these liver problems involves consuming medicines and these medicines would not be completely free of side-effects. Hence, it is better to adopt a different treatment method and this would be to change the food habits.

Say no to a lot of food items

There are various food items that are proven to be bad for the liver. These include fatty food items and also alcoholic foods. It is a fact that liver problems have increased drastically because of the over usage of junk food items. These junk food items have a lot of calories in them and these are much more than that is required by our body. The additional fat would not be used by the body and these would get deposited on the liver and after a long time, this would result in a situation called the fatty liver. This is a very intense situation and can be fatal in extreme situations. This is also the case with liver cirrhosis. This is a situation in which the liver cells would not be provided normal blood flow and hence they would not be normally oxygenated. These are caused by the scars on the liver. This situation is mainly caused by the excess and continuous intake of alcohol. So once you are diagnosed with this situation, you should completely avoid the intake of alcohol.

Drinking coffee and tea is quite effective

Various studies have proved beyond every doubt that drinking beverages like coffee and tea would certainly improve liver health. Problems like cirrhosis would be reduced by a large factor if you drink coffee regularly. But since coffee contains caffeine, it is not advisable to consume a lot of coffee. So the emphasis should be on the tea. And in the category of tea, green tea is perhaps the best option to consume. Drinking about 5 to 8 cups of green tea in a day would certainly increase the liver health. Another benefit is that green tea is a beverage that contains a lot of antioxidants. Antioxidants are things that have various other advantages. The fact is that green tea is a beverage that is even capable of reducing the risks of liver cancer. Black tea is also a beverage that has a lot of benefits when it comes to liver health. This tea would also reduce the oxidizing stress on the liver. If you are willing to do a bit of physical exercise along with consuming green tea, then a lot of health problems can be kept at bay. Green tea can even be used to reduce the excess fat in the body and this would reduce the body weight.

Eating fruits like grapes and cranberries

Fruits are always good for health. There is no doubt in that. But in the case of fruits, there are some fruits that are quite better than others as far as liver problems are concerned. Grapes and cranberries are among the fruits that are the best for improving the categories. In the case of grapes, the advantage is that they would help the human body to metabolize food items like alcohol.  So, consuming grapes and grape juice is quite good for improving liver health. One problem is that grapes are cultivated by using a lot of pesticides and insecticides. Hence, care must be taken to ensure that the grapes are properly cleaned before consuming them or else various other health problems would arise.

Cranberries are another type of fruits that can help with liver problems. In fact, the consumption of cranberries for about 3 to 4 weeks would reduce the liver damage by a large factor. Cranberries and various other small berries would have antioxidants and these would help to make liver cells immune to damage.

Prickly pear and beetroot

In fact, prickly pear is a particular type of cactus that can be consumed. This fruit is mainly used to make fruit juices. This fruit is one that has been used for a really long time as far as traditional medicine is concerned. Apart from liver problems, this fruit is also capable of reducing lack of appetite and various other problems like fatigue and ulcers.

Beetroot is another food item that causes liver cell recovery. Beetroot has in it a lot of nitrates and other anti-oxidants. These anti-oxidants are called betalains. These components would be quite helpful in reducing the inflammation of the liver.

Consuming nuts

Nuts are small food items that would help to improve the production of liver enzymes. There are various types of nuts and seeds available in the market. These nuts are also capable of reducing the risks from heart problems.

Eating fish can also help

Fish is a food item that is quite capable of reducing liver problems to a large extent. Fish contain omega 3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are quite capable of reducing risks of liver diseases. Also, heart problems can be prevented with the help of fish.

Olive oil

It is a fact that excess consumption of oil is very bad for health. But as a contradiction, consumption of olive oil is something that can help you to reduce the problems related to the liver. It enhances the overall metabolism and has a lot of positive effects on heart health. The good effects are a reduction in the accumulation of fat in the liver and also improving the flow of blood into the liver. Olive oil also improves the level of liver enzymes.
