Reasons and Prevention of hair loss problem

Hair is an important part of our body. It is made with the protein called keratin which is produced in hair follicles. After a certain time, a new hair cell is produced and pushed out of the old cell. Losing 80-100 hair strands in a day is normal. But if it increases significantly, certain medications or treatment is needed.
 

Reasons for hair loss problem


Genetically: Hair loss problem can occur genetically, especially male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness. Normally, the problem starts to show after 40 years of age. But it can occur early. Female pattern hair or baldness is called androgenic alopecia. If your family has this type of problems then you have a chance to have that too. Female baldness is normally like thinning hair or partition widening. Sometimes doctors prescribe oral medicine or cream to apply. Surgery like transplant or graft hair is also becoming popular.

Reaction: It will occur due to a certain type of reaction or trigger. For using any kind of harsh chemical product, a crash diet, severe stress, illness or nutritional deficiency can be the cause for hair loss problems. To cure that, first the exact problem is needed to find out. Before using any new hair product you need to consult an expert. Also, you should go through the ingredients of the products. Many chemicals are used to style the hair in salons. Heat, chemical, and certain hairstyles are needed to avoid. Perm, bleaching, hair coloring make the hair-thin, weak, and brittle.

Hormonal Imbalance: Hormonal imbalance can work as a trigger for hair loss problems. The hormone plays a great role to keep our body functions active. If it is disrupted, then many things can go wrong. ‘Oestrogens’ which is known as female hormones are good for hair and responsible for hair growth. On the other hand, Androgens is bad for hair and ends the hair life quickly. So if androgens secretion is increased, it means that the balance is gone. Hypothyroidism is another problem that causes hair loss problem. Thyroid glands help to keep our metabolism in balance. They help to control protein production and tissue use of oxygen. The hair follicles are affected severely due to thyroid imbalance. Pregnant women can face temporary hair loss due to hormonal change.

Stress: Stress is the root cause of all problems and of course, hair loss problem is one of them. Due to a very busy lifestyle, we face so many ups and downs and this affects the body, scalp, and digestive system. It will trigger the problem.

Anemia: Anemia or iron deficiency is also another reason for the hair loss problem. Iron is important for hair cell protein production. If you have anemia, the doctors will suggest taking iron supplements.

Vitamin deficiency: Vitamins and minerals are essential to get beautiful hair. So, a lack of vitamins can be dangerous for the hair. Vitamin B12 is very important for red blood cells. The cells carry oxygen to every tissue of your body. So, if you have a B12 deficiency, medication, and proper diet enriched with vitamins are needed to improve the situation.

Weight loss: Sometimes we follow a strict diet for weight loss program. For that reason, we cut out many important foods from our meal which is good for hair growth. Any dramatic intentional or unintentional weight loss will affect hair growth.

Age: Hair loss problem increases with aging. Different complications and diseases may affect health. Women who are experiencing menopause may face a hair loss problem. This is a part of aging.

Medication and disease: Hair loss problem can occur as an early symptom for many diseases. If you are taking a certain type of medication or drug for arthritis, cancer, heart problem, birth control pills, diabetes, psychological problem, lupus, and high blood pressure, you may experience hair loss as side effects. Cancer patients who have to go through radiation therapy face hair loss. Any fungal infection caused by worms or other things can cause the problem. Accidental burns or injury that leaves a scar can cause permanent hair loss. Autoimmune disease can cause alopecia areata.

Diet: Food is very important for hair growth (food for hair loss problem). Eating disorder, having unhealthy food and a low protein diet can be harmful to hair.

Prevention:
To prevent hair loss, you have to follow a healthy routine. Regular hair wash is a must for improving hair growth. If your scalp is dirty, your hair life will be shortened and will be affected by dandruff and infections. Men wearing a helmet for a long time can face hair loss because of sweating. Keep your hair dry and sweat-free.  Avoid brushing wet hair. Use a wide-toothed comb. Always use mild or herbal shampoos to wash your hair gently and regularly. Don’t use hot irons, dryers, or curlers too much. Heat makes the hair dry and increases fragility. Don’t tie your hair too tight. If your doctors suggest medications take them regularly. If your hair fall is caused as a symptom of another illness, then that one is needed to treat at first.

Vitamin B and E are good for hair. Protein is very important. To enrich your diet with necessary proteins such as fish, meat, and eggs. For vegan eaters, soy and lentils are a good source of protein. Berries, spinach, sweet potatoes, nuts, seeds, avocado, sea fishes are enriched with necessary vitamins and proteins for hair. Applying herbal hair oil can help to prevent hair loss problem. Massaging the scalp with almond oil, coconut oil, sesame oil or castor oil will be beneficial. You can also apply garlic juice, henna powder, onion juice or ginger juice on the scalp. Having green tea is good for hair. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Alcohol reduces hair growth. Smoking interrupts the blood flow to the scalp.

A hair loss problem can be caused by many reasons. If you are facing abnormal hair loss you should visit a doctor as early as possible to find out the root cause. Follow the expert’s advice wholeheartedly.
