The course covers a wide range of topics including the 65 asanas, the five basic meditation techniques, three types of pranayamas, shatkarma, body alignment techniques, how to teach individual and group sessions, yoga business ethics, setting up a yoga school, holistic approach to learning therapeutic yoga teaching, and many others. Rishikesh Nath Yogshala follows a curriculum that is in compliance with the international standards of Yoga Alliance from the USA coupled with the expertise of renowned yoga gurus.

The prime aim of this course is to teach physical and spiritual practices that lay down the foundation to become a well rounded and successful yoga teacher. The main five modules of the course include yoga teaching techniques, teaching methodology and yogic lifestyle, philosophy, anatomy, and physiology, as well as practice.

Yoga teaching techniques

The yoga teaching techniques cover principles such as asana, pranayama, shatkarma, bandhas, mudras, meditation techniques, and mantra and chanting. Asana is the yoga postures, pranayama is the breathing techniques, shatkarma is the cleansing techniques, bandhas is the locking of energy, and mudras is the channeling of energy. You will also learn the benefits and contraindications of the yoga asanas which are the pranic energy channels of the body, the Pancha koshas (sheath), the five elements of the universe, and the seven chakras.

Teaching methodology

The objective and aim of this module are to learn the art of teaching as well as the business and marketing aspects of yoga. This is done by cultivating good quality teachings like timing, class planning, the intonation of voice, asana sequence, and the art of adjustment. The trainer will be refining your qualities to teach in small and big groups of students.

Anatomy and physiology

The lessons will include the study of anatomy and physiology. The module will focus on general movement and human body terms as well as the systems of the body such as the respiratory system, the muscular system, the endocrine, and the nervous system.

Yoga philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers

You will learn the definition of yoga, yogic diet and lifestyle, paths of yoga (Jnana, Raja, Bhakti, and Karma yoga), biography of important yogis, the eight limbs of Patanjali yoga sutras, the study of the ancient text (Bhagavad Gita), and Ayurveda.

Week 1

During this first week, you will learn alignment, anatomy, and physiology which are the main building blocks for a good knowledge of movements. Yoga-specific anatomy and physiology skills classes will also be during this week. In detail, you will learn the movement and support of the individual asanas that accompany you in your practice. Look forward to intensive functional and practical anatomy.

Week 2

During this week, you will be focusing on Vinyasa in terms of hour construction. Vinyasa is the movement of life. Everything is in motion and everything is in change. Everyone has already experienced how life goes up and down. There is never a phase in life that lasts forever.

At some point, a time for the change of the life phase comes. How does this particular turn? Which movement sequences make sense and which less? Your breathing and your movements are coordinated and the connections are illuminated in all facets. Rejoice in flowing hours and be open to change.

Week 3

One of the most important and valuable tools for you as a yoga teacher is the tactile correction technique, adjustment. In this training week, you will learn in a structured and tactful manner, how to correct your students. Look forward to a variety of adjustment techniques to many asanas and gain safety and competence for your lessons.

Week 4

In this training week, you will learn to use the different tools efficiently. Your tone, body language, and content from the previous classes in adjustment, alignment, and Vinyasa will be brought to the fore for you and illuminated. You will learn to stand in front of a group and teach. The last week will consist of the exam days; a 90-minute written exam and practical exams on how to teach a group of students.
