Yoga philosophy

Anatomy and physiology

Anatomical understanding of the body is an important skill in the career of a yoga teacher to prevent injury, before during and after the practice. In addition to 200-hours of yoga teacher training course’s scientific approach towards the subject, 300-hour advanced course teaches how to apply this science to yoga practice along with the benefits, contradictions, and orientation towards physical well being. Meditation is a simple art of observation. The practice of meditation brings you closer to the nature of your reality and culminates all the unnecessary ideas formed in the darkness of unconsciousness. In 300-hour yoga teacher training course, Yoga Nidra, Sufi meditations, Vipassana, and dynamic meditations are taught and practiced daily along with many more styles to bring the conscious mind in communication with deepest aspects of your yoga practice.

Yoga asana

Asana means the seat in which the witnessing consciousness observes sensation. As insight arises and ignorance passes, the state of tension is seen clearly, an obsolete cellular memory and habitual muscular holding patterns are released. Asana practice not only brings flexibility to the body, but also to the cognition of the mind.

Yoga Adi enhances more on the esoteric relation to the asana practice in which their students are taught the science behind each asana and how the practice of the posture reflects in one’s lifestyle. The 300-hour yoga teacher training course is intense programming of bio-circuitry of the body, conditioning the physical nature of being in tune with the five Yamas and Niyamas.

Pranayama (breathing exercises)

Pranayama is the science of breathing that regulates the bio-plasmic physiology of the body and state of mind. The deeper and more aware the breathing is the stronger the life presence becomes. Practicing and learning the breath modulation exercises unlocks advanced levels of yogic exercises such as asana and meditation. 300-hour yoga teacher training course unravels the keynotes of advanced breath-control with internal locks (bandhas), channeling the energy with spirituous gestures (mudra) followed by internal cleansing techniques (kriya).


Shatkarma means the six cleansing practices performed to detoxify the vital channels of the body. The science of Shatkarma works on the overall health of the body which involves intestinal purification, large intestine flush (enema), gaseous waste removal from the abdomen (Nauli), nasal and food pipe cleaning, and eyes cleansing (Trataka). 300-hour yoga teacher training course teaches all these as well as further progression in the Shatkarma, training the students to perform Nauli and Bhastrika Kriya, which are only demonstrated in the 200-hour yoga teacher training course.

In Sanskrit, the literal translation to the teacher is a guru, who guides the aspirants on the path of learning. Yoga Adi’s faculty is blessed to have traditional gurus who educate their students to always be humble yet disciplinary in the teaching practice. Under the guidance of respective faculty, students deliver their yoga asana sessions and get appropriate feedback to practice their skills in a safe environment.


Naturopathy is an ancient branch of knowledge on how to heal the body with five elements of nature i.e. earth, water, fire, air, and space. Yogis have always known how to revive their well-being and that is what Yoga Adi aspires to share with their students as an exclusive feature to the 300-hour yoga teacher training course.

Emotional Body-work

An extraordinary blend of massaging nerve points, breathing techniques, mantra chanting, and dynamic mediation comprises up the emotional release body-work session. A satvik diet enhances your energy to be pure, positive, clean, conscious, strong, true, honest, and wise. The diet regimen comprises fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, legumes, and whole grains. This regimen empowers virtues such as Ahimsa (non-violence). It includes vegetarian proteins that are most suited to the daily practice and learning of Hatha yoga, breathing techniques, and meditation techniques.

In case you are vegan or lactose intolerant or you have any other dietary requirements, they can easily make necessary arrangements for you. During your stay at Yoga Adi, you will be served three daily vegetarian Satvik meals. Massage therapies

The massage therapies are performed by highly sensitive and experienced Ayurvedic massage therapists to provide you with deep healing and relaxation. Massage oils are specifically chosen according to the therapy and the individual Ayurvedic body types. You can choose from foot massage, head, and shoulder, full-body or any area that you would like special care for.


The sauna treatments enhance both lifestyle and wellness while the specific health benefits will vary depending on the individual and how the sauna is used. You can choose from the sauna after a massage, improving blood circulation, or removal of toxins and impurities.


Shirodhara is a forehead massage wherein a constant stream (dhara) of herbal or medicated oil is poured on the scalp in order to stimulate the nerves in the head. You can select from body constitution consultation, warm sesame oil, or buttermilk.

Reiki healing therapy

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s 'qi' or energy should be strong and free-flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.

A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels - physical, mental, and emotional. Dr. Yogi Chandarkant Ji

Dr. Yogi Chandrakant Ji is one of the lead yoga teachers at Yoga Adi, born in a Brahmin family in an ancient village named Haripurkalan situated at the confluence of the seven Ganges. At the age of eight, he was enrolled in a Sanskrit School where he learned about yoga, astrology, and Sanskrit as a language and began teaching yoga at the age of 20. His teachings refined more as he mastered himself in yoga asanas, yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditations, and Shatkarma Kriyas as well as receiving a doctorate in naturopathy.


Hari Krishan Ji

Hari had envisioned opening up of a yoga school that presents yoga in its true essence combined with the traditional detoxification science of naturopathy. A large part of Hari Ji’s childhood was spent in serving and taking care of hundreds of sages and sadhus. Being a national level player in his youth, yoga was an essential part of his routine. However, he realized that in present times, the bodies of most people are full of emotional and other kinds of bondage, which hinders one’s growth. This led him to develop 'emotional blockage treatments as well as using naturopathy detoxification.


Swami Yog Kulwant Ji

Swami Yog Kulwant Ji is one of the founders of Yoga Adi School. At a very young age, he left his home to seek inner bliss. He studied under many masters, who taught and encouraged him to meditate and complete his studies. Being a seeker, he was always interested in studying the subject of philosophy, on which he has also done his Ph.D. After completing his education, he went deep into meditation and stayed in silence for many years. At present, he stays in silence for most of his time in Upper Himalayas and guides students and seekers in 'Silent Retreats'.


Yogini Prabha Jaguri

Prabha hails from the holy city of Uttarkashi that is surrounded by the Himalayas and also happens to be the origin of the holy Ganges. Early in her life she got interested in the spiritual world and started to explore it. Later, she moved to Rishikesh where she discovered her passion for yoga and pursued master in yogic science. She has taught yoga in India and abroad in reputed yoga studios. Being a very creative personality for yoga she has mastered Ashtanga, Hatha yoga, pranayama, yoga philosophy, adjustment, and alignment.


Yogi Vikas Pradhan

Vikas is a life long learner of the yogic lifestyle and has been teaching Ashtanga yoga and yogic philosophy from the past 10 years. Vikas is passionate about the complexity of asanas which brings out traditional values of yoga in his classes. During the course, he will offer friendly expert insights to the minute details of Ashtanga yoga about proper adjustment and alignment of the postures.


Manmohan Rupal

Manmohan Rupal Ji is a double master degree holder in human psychology, a holistic healer, a life coach, and a healing tattoo artist. Grown up under the parenthood of a naturopath father and Reiki master mother, Manmohan Ji was always inclined towards holistic healing from the young age. Along with the fusion of psychological master degrees, Manmohan Ji has specialized himself in exclusive yogic psychotherapy which is proving to be a very effective tool in yoga practices to overcome psychosomatic disorders like depression and anxiety.
